Here a windows vista tips to speed up hard drives performance. This vista tips is describe a way to speed up SATA hard drive on Windows Vista by enabling the enhanced write caching features. This enhanced write caching features basically doesn’t automatically enable when Window Vista installed. So, you need to turn on this features under Windows vista Device Manager setting( or you enter devmgmt.msc from the command line).

Select your SATA hard drive and right-click on your SATA hard drive. Select Policies tab, Check on ” Enable enabling writing caching on the disk ” box and ” Enable advanced performance ” box.
